This equipment as a Lightning Impulse Simulation Tester has to pass the shock wave immobility efficiency test on all switches(NFB, magnet, the circuit breaker), lightning arrester, surge arrester, etc, according to the technique standard on electric apparatus of the Korean Eectric Safety Management Asociation, which stipulates that there must be no operation error and breakage in case of impressing(Fig 2) the impulse (wave height value 6 , wave rising time 1.2 ,wave duty time 50 (Fig 1)on products by thisLightning Impulse Simulation Tester.

Test Method


At first, in the condition of switch 'on', connect the output line E(grounding terminal) to the core of the switch which test is needed. Second, after connecting with any one line of U,V,W through R.C circuit, try to impress the output line(line G) of Impulse Generator on the other point, of line R,S,T, which line E is not connected with. Like this, with putting line E on line W, when connect output G, each one time, with R,S and then line E with V, after that, impulse-impress line G, each one time, on R,T, and watch the switch should not be tripped or damaged, but if you think the test trying to press the high Impulse on a live wire is dangerous, test with cutting point C and inserting R,C circuit into serial as like Figure 3.
